Immerse yourself in Kilig’s atmospheric beats

I have a really great feeling about this next artist. On my Sunday night show BBC Introducing Dance, I made this track my Dancefloor Moment Radio 1. The purpose of this feature is for the listener to drift away and get lost in the music, and it’s very easy to lose yourself in the sounds of Kilig.

‘NotForYou’ is an ambient delight that builds from hushed whispers into a synthy, skeletal masterpiece. It’s one of those tracks where you won’t catch everything in the first listen - you must go back and let it gently swirl around your ears again and again. I found that this one is deeply reminiscent of Massive Attack’s ‘Unfinished Sympathy’.

kilig

Kilig upholds a mysterious front, not showing any signs of the man shrouded by the producer-mask, but we know that he’s a resident at East London club Night Tales, and is originally from up North. BBC Music Introducing in London have also been loving his emotive, genre-bending productions and invited kilig in to do a guest mix not too long ago.

‘NotForYou’ is out now on London label Silver Bear, and they’ve also just released a remix EP of the track, featuring reworks from Jacana People (which came about after they heard each other on BBC Music Introducing fyi ! ), 1-800 GIRLS and more, with all profits going to Age UK. Go check it out here, and listen to Kilig - ‘NotForYou’ below.
