Lose yourself in Emily Nash's ‘Strangest Thing’

I’m so excited to share my new BBC Radio 1 show, BBC Introducing Dance with you! It’s been a long time coming, and finally we have a home for emerging artists on the best station in the world. This is where it starts for new producers!

Every week on the show, I highlight an artist that I’m excited about in The Dancefloor Moment feature. The Dancefloor Moment is that state when you lose yourself in a track. It’s THE tune that you remember at the end of the night.

I wanted to kick off my first show with this artist, because I think she has a really bright future. When I found this track on the BBC Music Introducing Uploader, I was SO excited. The track sounds fresh, with its aerial dial tone melody and rumbling bassline. When you drop it in a club, the profound female vocals repeating ‘forever is the strangest thing’ always packs a punch. I remember dropping it at Glasgow’s SWG3 last year and I was playing before Patrick Topping. It was the final track I played before handing over to him and he asked me for the track ID!

I’m talking about 19 year old Emily Nash. She’s from Kidderminster and has been supported by BBC Music Introducing in Hereford & Worcester. I’d also recommend checking out her other tunes ‘Activation’ and ‘In The Dance’ too. I’m looking forward to seeing where her career progresses to!
